What I'm mentioning is what I generally have found to be the problem when you've explored all other options and you still can't free up the space. I believe this is a significant bug that Apple should address but so far they haven't! :(Įdit: I should clarify, many of the other things mentioned by other posters also can take up your "Other" space. Just remember that if you restore your backup, you'll be restoring the "Other" as well, because it's actually in your backup. You'll be able to re-sync most of it from iTunes. Once you do this, the hidden photos and videos will be gone, but unfortunately so will the rest of the contents of your iPhone. Instead, you have to choose "set up as a new iPhone." If you choose to do this, be sure your contacts, photos, etc are backed up some other way! The worst part is, the only way to free up that space is to restore your phone, and then don't restore your backup. Bummer! After a while, these can really add up to quite a bit of stuff! forever! In a hidden-away, inaccessible file that you cannot delete, no less. Unfortunately the news is not so good.īasically, when you send or receive any photos or videos via iMessage, a copy of the photo or video gets saved on your phone. But, I've had this come up time and time again, especially on my wife's phone, and I've researched the hell out of it. Hey, it sounds like people here are just guessing.
